FAQ

Where can I buy your products?

You may purchase directly from us on this website, our physical store in Penang, at popup locations throughout Penang, and at selected retail partners. Follow us on Facebook for the latest updates on offers, popup locations, and retail partners.

Where do your ingredients come from?
All over the world! We source the best quality products from producers and suppliers across the globe. For more details, please refer to the respective product pages.

Where do you make and pack your products?
At the moment all our products are freshly baked and packed locally at our headquarters in Georgetown, Penang.

Are your products halal certified?
Yes they are. Our company abides by the halal guidelines, and procedures outlined by the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) as well as to uphold its standard at all times.

Are your products organic?
Only our brazilnuts, pumpkin seeds, chia seeds, sunflower seeds, flaxseeds, and goji berries are certified organic. Everything else that we supply are all natural ingredients despite not being certified as organic. At Big Nuts, we aim to make quality ingredients available to customers at affordable prices and research on organic eating has not demonstrated enough added benefits to justify the significant cost increase of going organic.

Are your products gluten free?
As far as we know, our products do not contain any gluten but we are not claiming to be gluten free as we do not have such certification from our manufacturing suppliers.

How can I be sure that the goods that I receive from online purchase is fresh and not old stock?
Here at Big Nuts, we freshly bake, pack and ship our goods from the same facility so you can rest assured that you will be receiving freshly packed goods because of our quick turnover.

How can I prolong the life of your products? Can your products be consumed after the expiry date?
Please refer to our Storage Tips to find out how you can store our products in such a way as to prolong their freshness and lifespan. As for the expiry date, it is only a guideline and how the products are stored will play an important role as to how safe they are for consumption after that date. We suggest a simple sight, smell, and if necessary, taste test to determine if the goods are still edible or not.

What’s the benefit of slow roasting nuts?
Besides making the nuts tastier and easier to digest compared to raw nuts, slow roasting also preserves as much natural goodness as possible without the side effects common to over roasted nuts (diminished nutritional value, inferior taste & texture, easily rancid oil).

Are your dried fruits sweetened?
We source low sugar or unsweetened options.

Are your products safe for child consumption?
We would advise our customers to exercise discretion as nuts in particular may be a choking hazard or cause allergic reactions depending on the individual.
